BBC doc and future of fish

Things seem more out of balance than usual. Perhaps it’s the aftermath of the Paris terrorist attack and the continued imminent threat. Tensions are running high everywhere you look, it seems. As I write this I’m bound for Lille and I have no doubt I will be imbibing a tense atmosphere. That societal stress has consequences, and with depression and chronic diseases spiralling out of control, there will be health price to be paid.

For those who line up in their GP surgeries for help and support, most won’t get what they really need. Dr Rangan Chatterjee, the British GP who was aired last week to a British prime time audience in the first of a 3-part series on BBC 1, explains what some of the challenges are in the exclusive 4 minute video we release today from our NuHealth2 think tank event earlier this year. He says doctors are simply not trained for the kinds of conditions that are clogging up their waiting rooms.

If you’re planning to have fish on Friday, you may want to think again after reading Claire Thorpe’s piece on the sustainability of our fish supplies. We’re not saying you need to stop eating fish and fish oils, but we’re definitely saying if you want to ensure supplies for the future, you'd better be checking carefully on the sustainability of your supply. The oceans and its inhabitants are in deep trouble and too many of us too pre-occupied to care.
