  HPV vaccine and MedDiet

With my youngest daughters approaching the age when school children are herded for prophylactic HPV vaccination intended to protect them from sexually transmitted pathogens, I really do understand what a difficult decision it must be.  Especially if you’re prepared to believe what health authorities and vaccine manufacturers are telling us. The point is, it’s simply not the straightforward decision we’re generally led to believe. In this week’s piece about the HPV vaccine, we aim to offer you some food for thought.  We hope it will go some way to offering parents and carers responsible for their 11, 12 or 13-year-old loved ones additional information to help you make informed choices that offer kids the best opportunities for long, healthy lives.

Timi Ellinas joined us as our strategic alliance coordinator in April. She now feels ready be let loose on one of her favourite subjects: the Mediterranean diet.  She’s got a science background and she’s a Greek national, so you could say it had to happen! In this week’s feature, Timi’s focused especially on the Cretan variant of the diet, hailed by virtue of a considerable body of science as the one of the healthiest diets in the world. But, as you’ll discover, it’s not perfect – and there are ways of making it healthier still.

Among this week’s news, is a warning from the UK government’s chief food safety advisor about acrylamide formed by high temperature cooking of a range of common processed foods given to children. There’s never been a better reason to get back to home cooking and drop the processed foods!

Be well, naturally
