Banned CBD in Germany, censored organics in Ireland

Our Special Report this week focuses in on the troubled waters that likely lie ahead of CBD (cannabidiol) products in Europe especially. To understand what’s going on we’ve shared some of the recent history of hemp and products derived of it, including events in the recent past in the USA. This is no time to be lackadaisical about the future of CBD. Medical cannabis likely has an easier future now that it’s been green lighted even at a WHO level. But CBD interferes with drug sales and regulators are using every trick in the book to limit this all-important and rapidly expanding category of supplements.

It was a pleasure to be invited to join The Organic Institute in Portlaoise, Ireland, to debate key issues around health and farming, along with other experts and a dynamic and packed audience. Who would have thought that Facebook and the online booking platform used for the event would try to sabotage the event? But they did try, such is the desire by some to stamp out free speech, citizen empowerment and consumer choice - along with the sharing of information that benefits both people and planet. The good news is these efforts were to limited avail, such is the power of real life social connections among the Irish people. You can find out what was talked about - that some feel should have been silenced - when you read our story about the Organic Institute’s 2019 Environment, Organic Food & Health Convention.

In our weekly news offering you'll find that breast cancer rates are increasing in young women; millennials’ grazing habits are supposedly harming their health; why psychiatry is needing a complete rethink and overhaul and a new project to map the human microbiome using a million samples, amongst other vital tidbits.

Yours in uncensored health, naturally
