The silent war on our most important freedom

Everywhere you look, divisions in society appear to be widening. Whether it’s people’s views on what values are most important in a rapidly changing, supposedly civilised, woke society. Or on whether people are generally becoming less tolerant. Or whether or not electric vehicles will remedy the environmental crisis we’re amidst. Or what the drivers of obesity are, or even more so, on what are the underlying causes of the widening health inequalities faced by different parts of society. And, of course, definitely everything and anything to do with Covid-19.

So much so, that more and more of us are concerned about where these divisions will lead. That’s not to say revolutions are necessarily bad. When successful, they are, after all, one of the only ways of ridding a society of a tyrannical government or leader. But they often fail and they can be very costly in the broadest sense. They are surely a last resort and it may be too early for us to see revolution as the only option left to us.

Laws or actions by a government authority that restrict certain freedoms, such as taking a train or shopping without being restricted by a mask, are one thing. They’re justified to us by those who enforce these rules by being for the greater good, and we can all argue whether or not we agree with the science used in the justification. But restricting freedom of expression is quite another thing. What you do if you restrict our ability to express ourselves is you stop any possibility of a debate, because cronies in governments and corporations control the information that forms the building blocks of people’s knowledge.

The silent war on our freedom of expression goes to the heart of what this week’s newsletter is all about. Coming at a time when people through much of the UK, Europe and North America are trying their best to get some semblance of normality back in their lives, all the while concerned the carpet might be ripped out from under them if those unenviable R numbers creep up.

We’ve been investigating the so-called ‘fact-checkers’ that now police Google, Facebook and all the most important mouthpieces of our modern, semi-virtual world for some time. You’ll find in our top story our first report on our investigation – along with a case study looking at how abominably the role of vitamin C for Covid has been handled.

Our next piece is another coronacast, the eighth in our series. Here I focus on 9 things that we consider governments should be doing now if they want to avert social upheaval, of the kind that might lead to societal damage that eclipses anything SARS-CoV-2 could throw at us by orders of magnitude.

Please dig into our content and share widely, including our news and Covid Zone update. We want to thank those of you who’ve told us over these last few weeks how much they value our content and that it serves to balance some of the other information received either through the mainstream media or the Internet. We’d also like to thank especially those who’ve made donations, especially monthly donations; they’re our lifeblood. Donations are our only source of revenue allowing us to help protect and promote our mutual, inalienable right to natural health – regardless.

With utmost regard for our right to freedom of expression and natural health,
