Week No 16 | 21/04/2021

When you can’t C the wood for the trees…

Think of the billions that have been spent on developing vaccines and antigen testing. Then consider what a travesty it is that crowdfunding by the public is the only way to raise £20,000 to carry out a landmark study that will tell us how much vitamin C care home residents will need to help them counter infection by SARS-CoV-2.

In our lead piece this week, I’ve interviewed British nutritionist and ANH friend, Patrick Holford, who is helping to get this study (that is just going through ethics approval) up and running. Led by some of the top vitamin C researchers in the world – all of whom are giving their time on the project for nothing. Given crowdfunding is the only option – all contributions, however small, will be hugely appreciated. See the donate link at the end of the article.

Our second piece is a heartfelt call to action by Meleni, our executive coordinator. As I read her draft, I found her article to communicate a message that is far too seldom heard, such is our human desire to flow with the herd and denigrate (or censor) dissent. It’s high time that we look for solutions within our own milieu — within our own minds and bodies — rather than hoping another person, a new medical invention, or some abnormal behaviour is what we really need. The demon isn’t really a virus, and our saviour is unlikely to be a vaccine. Our problem is that we live lives that are not well adapted to our only slightly modified palaeolithic genome. The poorer our adaptation, the worse we suffer at the hands of this new virus. Why not look at the virus as a mirror that helps us adapt better? It’s time to ‘adapt, not fight’ – to live out the catch-cry we appealed for over a year ago.

Dive into our news – including a podcast in which I’m interviewed by a leading Florida chiropractor, the launch of a new, exciting, health e-learning platform by holistic doctor, Dr Rosy Daniel, with which we’re involved, the empty antibiotic pipeline, nature’s healing properties, and – among other stories – the launch of a legal action on 5G in the UK.

For anyone who’s signed on for the Food Integrity conference, I’ll be delighted to be with you as I give a keynote tomorrow morning on challenges around CBD and novel foods, and then moderate the expert panel on CBD.

In health, naturally,
